Using a three-layer impact liner with multiple densities of material, Flex strategically disperses impact energy and works to reduce rotational energy transfer. 3 progressive layers of impact liner

A very unique feature of the Bell Moto-9 Flex is the use of 3 different materials that absorb the impact. The first layer is made of soft material and provides damping at a low speed impact. The second layer provides protection at a mid-speed impacts and the third layer of EPS mainly takes care of the damping at high speed impacts. The three layers work together to provide optimal protection in all situations.

Rotational energy management

The Bell Moto-9 Flex is designed to prevent rotational injuries. With a rotational impact, you touch the ground at an angle, which causes your head, skull and brain to rotate. This effect can cause serious damage. The Moto-9 flex has a rotational damping system. As explained earlier, the helmet is made of 3 layers. These layers can rotate relative to each other, with the rotation getting damped.

Optimal fit

The inside of a conventional motocross helmet is made from one rigid piece of material formed in a symmetrical “standard” head shape. But the shapes of heads can differ greatly from one person to another, which means optimal fit will not be achieved. The inside of this Bell helmet is different, because it is build up from 6 movable panels. These panels can move separately, which creates a great adaptability.

Ventilation

Another advantage of the 6 movable panes is the space that is created. This in combination with many ventilations channels ensures optimum ventilation properties. In addition the material optimisation makes sure the helmet is light.

Inner lining

The inner lining is made of a removable and washable XT-2 material. This materials has an antibacterial effect which provides better hygiene and odor inside of the helmet. The pieces can easily be removed from the helmet by the magnetic connection.

Magnefusion Emergency Removal System

To optimize the safety of the Moto-9 flex Bell has equipped it with the Magnefusion Emergency Removal System (MERS). With this system the cheek pads can be removed from the helmet. This will minimize the risk of more damage after a crash.

Closure

Finally, The Bell Moto-9 flex is equipped with a D-ring closure. In addition the strap can be easily secured with a magnet.
